Currirulum Vitae
- sales document
- you are the product

Effective Currirulum Vitae
- brief, don't give too much away
- maxixmum 2 sides
- use white A4 papers
- use word format / rich text format
- use Times Roman or Arial font 10pt or 12pt
- don't use tables

Your Currirulum Vitae
- Currirulum Vitae is to get an interview for you
- it should contain
i) personal details - education, professinonal qualification, SATO II, III
ii) your address
iii) telephone / mobile phone number / email address - driving license
- a profile - basic details, qualifications, experiences
- a headliner "Attention Grabber"
- outline keyskills and experiences
- made up of three to four sentences
- uses words from advert to mirror your skills

Company details
- company name and location
- dates of employment
- Job title
- what the company do
- what are your roles and responsibilities
- what your key achievements have been
- problems, time scales, costs, benefits

Keyskills - key attributes
- self motivation
- communication skills
- initiative
- team building / work
- leadership
- technical skills

Summary
- think what are the company looking for
- sales brochure of yourself

Application Form
- gathers information on potential candidates
- allows for easier screening in
- standardises application information
- potential

Covering Letter
- powerful tool
- the only oppurtunity of introducing yourself
- state where you saw the advert
- summarise what they are looking for
- briefly outline your key matching skills
- state 'should further information be required that they should not
hesitate to contact you

and that you look forward to hearing from then in the future.'

Summary
- always take the oppurtunity if allowed
- tailor it to the job you are looking for

Telephones
- prepare and do research on the interview
- it's not what you say but how you say it
- at the end, ask them about their thought about your experiences, and
what is the next

stage.

Before the interview
- ensure you are prepared
- dress conservatively
- arrive on time or more than 10 minutes before the interview
- if late, ring them and tell them
- smile and look the interiewer in the eye when introduced
- greet them with a firm hand shake
